Yes & no. I have never seen 'The Great Escape' with Steve McQueen. This is mostly because my dad goes 'argh not this again!' and changes channel.....

Well working today, tomorrow and Thursday - but there is a possibility of getting away early I'm told.
Tonight and tomorrow night will consist of washing, packing, and mending the foam chair beds.
Thursday hope to do the 1st leg of the drive again to Barnsley (obviously dependant on road conditions) and get there mid-evening where we shall have Christmas dinner with ki's parantals.
Christmas morning will be spent with them, and heading to my parentals around 2pm.
Boxing day will be braving the sales with Sheffield Kit :)
27th is still to be decided, would like to get back to Stiliring for lunchtimeish for Yvonnes leaving do, but unknown if this will be possible.
28th will be a day of rest!
Working 29th 30th and NYE then heading to Bryans for a NYE do with plenty of games involved :)
NYD will be having a nice roast dinner for just me and Ki at home
2nd and 3rd I'm guessing will be prep for the following week.
Kis off on the 4th, I'm working
5th and 6th both working
7th - Driving Test!!!!!
8th-12th Off for a long weekend fro our 2nd year anniversary :D - As we are in London we're hoping to meet up with people on the 10th. - Can anyone reccomend places to go for good food/atmosphere?? - And Reb, hopefully this means we get to see you and your lot too??!!!
Back in Edinburgh for the 12th and D&D at 7pm... then back to the grind....

Friday - Went & visited Chris(aka ex varenheim / gallows) & Ollie (aka ex Max / Cull) for a burger night. There was much frothing cawing about Outcast. It looks like we have two new tribe of the wintertide! CRAW! CRAW! I may have also kind of got myself into building a huge egg Chris's character can hatch from... :S There were also many mythos related Christmas carols. And then there were Varenheims IC childrens stories. OMG hilarious! I laughed so hard I cried & struggled to breathe! I haven't had breakage like that for months since the campfire & 'alright duck eyes'. Every unicorn must read them!!! Oh so,so, dodgy & wrong, but oh so pant-wettingly funny. (WARNING: there are gingerbread references and worse.....!!!!) Chris has been inspired to write more.... XD They all feature well loved Maritanjian characters with thinly veiled changed names. My favourite has to be the take on Goldilocks. I really want to say more but it would ruin then reading them yourselves. Amy, Gareth & Ger ESPECIALLY _HAVE_ to read them!!!
Saturday - Emily & Neil came up from Stafford to visit. We did many things like visit Warhammmer world, have a cuppa, go round the shops in town etc, it was awesome. Then we met Chris for his birthday meal at a local chinese - nom! Then Neil & Emily went home & Matt & I saw with Chris + usual suspects (aka notts uni types & or stagecoaches) the new Avatar film in 3D. I have never seen a 3D film before so I don't know if it contributed to it or not, but as far as I am concerned its the best film I have seen in absolutely ages. Go see it!
Sunday - I didn't get up till 1pm. I slept the sleep of the dead. It was brilliant. Have been trying to catch my sleep for yonks. Matt & I watched Sweeny Todd, followed by Stardust. We huddled under a blanket on the sofa drinking tea & eating our own respective body weight's worth in biscuits all day. Outside the snow flurried down in big drifts at a time, but not much stuck.
Yesterday - Work, then got home to find Matt & I / Dawn & 'weird coloured corrupto dude' had recieved a christmas card off Peter/Meldir. Wrapped some pressies, wrote some cards and then ate tea followed by hot mince pies with a dollop of clotted cream & fell asleep in front of the TV.
Today - work, maybe some shopping tonight, maybe nam soc, maybe falling asleep in front of telly again, who knows?

Right, my phone lost all its 6000 text messages and peoples numbers I'd added since the last time I backed my phone up (about 8 months ago)
If you have given me your number since then, or changed it, please can you text me saying who you are???
This way I can add people again..
Comments screened for if you want to leave details here....

I'm currently working on getting my main (Warrior) up to scratch for HC and raids and I've been given some contradicting information from various sources about the health and def caps that I should be aiming for. At the moment I have health at 27K and defense at 546 unbuffed.
I've been told by some people that you need to have at least 30K health and defense 546 unbuffed. Others have told me that it's 40K health and 600 def unbuffed. I've also been told that health and armour matter more than defense (which I thought was a bit silly).
So, my question is this: what do you think are the best stats for tanking?

"The first warp-spasm seized Cúchulainn, and made him into a monstrous thing, hideous and shapeless, unheard of. His shanks and his joints, every knuckle and angle and organ from head to foot, shook like a tree in the flood or a reed in the stream. His body made a furious twist inside his skin, so that his feet and shins switched to the rear and his heels and calves switched to the front... On his head the temple-sinews stretched to the nape of his neck, each mighty, immense, measureless knob as big as the head of a month-old child... he sucked one eye so deep into his head that a wild crane couldn't probe it onto his cheek out of the depths of his skull; the other eye fell out along his cheek. His mouth weirdly distorted: his cheek peeled back from his jaws until the gullet appeared, his lungs and his liver flapped in his mouth and throat, his lower jaw struck the upper a lion-killing blow, and fiery flakes large as a ram's fleece reached his mouth from his throat... The hair of his head twisted like the tange of a red thornbush stuck in a gap; if a royal apple tree with all its kingly fruit were shaken above him, scarce an apple would reach the ground but each would be spiked on a bristle of his hair as it stood up on his scalp with rage."
... Riastrad. More badass then your silly 'Bear Shirt' thingy. ;)

You are now blinking manually.
Your body is itching in at least one place.
The final countdown is playing in your head.
You are now aware of your heart beating.
You are now breathing manually.
You are now aware that your jaw has weight and you are holding it up
You are now aware that you cannot say Irish wristwatch.
You also feel how heavy your arms are on your desk.
You are now aware of your tongue.
You are now controlling your tongue manually.
You are now swallowing your saliva manually
You are about to lick your lips.

May 09 - Firstly, thanks for all the advice folks. April 09 - Judith told me today that when she was at university, she read one of the few copies of a 1970's english translation of the 16th century version of Faust, AND a dodgy (still to this day blacklisted in Russia) translation from Russia from a later date. March 09 - Friday - Did nothing, Matt was late getting to mine, as he was talking to his parents about their business plans, which he then told me about, and this somehow turned into a blazing row, which is now sorted. Feb 09 - Well I'm stunned. Nottingham is covered in snow. Jan 09 - Happy Birthday Guy!
Dec 08 - Lets see.... Nov 08 - Gemz (Rhiammon) & Lauren you are welcome to stop at mine for the Vipers 1 night event, I'm 20 mins walk from the train station and 15 mins walk to bugman's bar. May 07 - Well the jobcentre managed to book me in on the system to claim at grantham, despite my paperwork and the man on the phone telling me Newark, AND Grantham was on strike anyway. April 07 - Missing Matt loads already. March 07 - I am writing this entry from home after walking out from those bastards. Feb 07 - Well actually, its not the penguins stealing my sanity, unsurprisingly, its work. Jan 07 - TRAIN HELL ALERT http://nationalrail.co.uk/service_bulletins/currentAndFuture.html
Dec 06 - Does anyone have any idea how to build a large set of larp safe antlers? Nov 06 - Nrrgh I appear to be going through a phase of loosing things! Was awesome, drove to Ki's dads in fog and got to play with cats. Bought a new suit for silly money (i.e. cheap) and then on the Sunday got to see Yvonne for a bit and look after her LRP stuff while she's away...
Sunday was amazing for other reasons too :) You know who you are :D
Monday was interesting, had a text conversation on Sunday that carried well up until 11pm last night... definintely need a new contract with unlimited texts... now to see how I can get out of my present one.....

Just something im working on at the minute. Been getting really frustrated in regards to Forsaken due to feeling useless, so i decided to do some theraputic Bad-ass depicting of my character.

Edit: Apparantly, uploading an image straight to Livejournal shrinks it. Annoying, but there we go. I suppose it saves loading times. Click it for making bigger.

Friday - Paranoia at Rich's. The party once again completed the entire mission AND we got promoted a clearance level!!! Then a lie was uncovered & we were de-moted again, but the mission was a success! :)
Saturday - Didn't do much all day as felt absolutely awful & full of plague (another cold) got ready & went the Harts event, thankfully was drugged up enough to enjoy at that stage! :)
HOT: Seeing everyone. Siquinanook's decision making Wizard Prang rewarding Dawn with some paperwork from the stuff she did him at the previous event. Confusing all Norscans with talk of void jelly Being lied to by Christophe & Uri telling me the Londoninium urchins come from the sea & spinning a ridculous yarn that only a small gullible child would believe... ;) The bards Alorna getting mistletoed by Sir Richard Percy Meeting Firenzi's sister, and talking about how rubbish siblings are at times. The lady garden! Most of the women had a flower with their name on a lammie. When you opened it, everyone had their own smell. Aparently a 'Dawn Cire' is a purple rose that smells of a mountain of candy! HOW appropriate?!?
NOT: Still some barriers on the whole age thing, but not so bad this time round. :)
Sunday: Woke up by a poorly Lauren, bless her. Had breakfast, nattered, went to the Johnson Arms with Ollie & Chris for lunch, was nom. Bundled my beloved wifey off on a train home. The Ben & his mum (who is _awesome_) came round for a bit before he went home for christmas, and THEN Mike Clewitt came round to talk LARP & get a keen for going.
Today: Is Matt's birthday. He loved the card. It really meant a lot to him that so many people signed it & he said that was the best present he had had in a while. Might be going for a meal later, don't rightly know, it's up to Matt.

The most emotionally challenging part is getting presents together for people. I never feel like its enough, no matter what I get them.
I enjoy it less these days. I think it looses a lot of its magic as you get older.

So i have a hilarious way of greeting 'Unwanted Guests' to my Dwarf Fortress if they somehow manage to batter down the front door.

Now ultimately, the statues are not part of the trap. But you tell me how you'd fit 4 freaking battleaxes into about 5 feet of solid stone that you've allready filled with sixe pop-up buzzsaw blades in character and i'll redesign it.
But you know, you sort of have to make the hilariousness for yourself in this game. And this just seemed like a really cool way to represent a horrific trap.
(for comparison to how deadly this trap is - The most damage a single weapon in a weapon trap can do is the Giant Axe at 250 points. The sawblades do 110 damage, but each attacks 3 times. Thats 660 x 3... just shy of 2000 damage before the axes even get involved.)
Even if the trap works only once before it needs resetting, i think it serves as a sufficient warning to the people behind.
Warning: This Fortress says hello with a Blender. This is just the beginning.
